PRE + POST CARE
Precare:
To help ensure the best healing and pigment retention possible, please review the following before your appointment:
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, energy drinks, and blood-thinning supplements for 24–48 hours prior to your appointment, as these may increase sensitivity and bleeding. If you are taking prescribed blood thinners, please contact Tina before booking.
• Please do not wax, tint, laminate, thread, or excessively tweeze your brows 1 week before your appointment.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning, or sunburn on the face before your appointment. Skin must be healthy and calm to safely perform the procedure.
• Avoid Botox, facials, chemical peels, lasers, microneedling, or strong exfoliating skincare near the brow area for at least 3-4 weeks before your appointment.
• Come well-rested, hydrated, and with realistic expectations. Soft, natural brows are built intentionally and heal differently for every client.
If you have any questions before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your comfort, safety, and experience are always the priority at Restore Studio.
Post Care
- Do not wash, apply ointments, creams, or lotions, or get your brows wet.
- Brows will look very dark, possibly a bit red, tender, or swollen — this is completely normal.
- Gently wash brows with Dial antibacterial soap — lather, pat for 10 seconds, rinse, and pat dry.
- Apply a rice grain-sized amount of aftercare ointment and gently spread over brows.
- Wash brows outside the shower. Use the reusable visor to protect them from water for the first 3 days.
- Do not touch, pick, or rub. Let any scabs fall off naturally.
- You can resume washing your face in the shower as usual.
- No sweating, beach, pool, sauna, gym, or intense physical activity.
- No direct sun exposure. Sun fades color and can turn brows ashy.
- Do not sleep on your face. Sleep on your back to avoid rubbing brows off.
- Do not pick, peel, or scratch any flaking skin — let it fall off naturally.
- During healing, use only Dial soap and aftercare ointment on the brow area.
- Makeup and sunscreen can be applied around brows after 2 weeks.
- No facials or chemical peels for 4–6 weeks. Let your esthetician know about your procedure.
- Wait at least 3–4 weeks before getting Botox near the brow area.
Brows look very dark, possibly a bit red, tender, or swollen. This is completely normal — your skin just had a procedure.
Brows appear even darker, thicker, and bolder. You may feel "brow shock" — that uneasy feeling of not recognizing your new look. This is common and temporary. Do not overanalyze. What you see now is not the final result.
Flaking and scabbing is expected. Do not pick or peel — let it fall off naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring. This phase can look patchy, uneven, or even giraffe-like. It's just the top layer of pigment shedding as your skin regenerates. Trust the process.
Flakes are mostly gone and brows may look very light or faded — almost like they disappeared. Don't panic. The color will return gradually. After 2 weeks, it's okay to start wearing brow makeup again.
Some pigment will return, but brows may still look uneven or spotty. This is expected and will be addressed at your touch-up appointment.
Brows have fully healed. You'll notice they've shrunk and softened in color — this is exactly what we expect. This is when we perfect the shape, fill in any faded areas, and make any final adjustments.
Is there downtime?
No downtime required. Most clients return to work or school the same day. A hat or sunglasses can help if you'd like a little more discretion during the darker first few days.
What do healed brows typically look like?
Once healing is complete, it's very common for brows to appear uneven or patchy at first. This is normal and not the final result. You might notice one brow or tail looks lighter, certain areas appear to have "disappeared," color heals cooler or warmer than expected, or overall pigment looks blotchy. All of this is addressed at your 8-week touch-up.
When can I get a touch-up?
Touch-ups can be done no sooner than 8 weeks after your initial appointment. Even if brows look healed on the outside, your skin is still recovering underneath. Going in too early can cause trauma, poor pigment retention, or patchy results. Waiting the full 8 weeks allows us to see how pigment truly settled before making any adjustments.
Is there a fee for the touch-up?
Yes. If scheduled within 2–6 months of your initial appointment, the touch-up fee is $125.
Do I need a touch-up?
Not always — it depends on your preference and how your skin healed. Some clients love a soft, natural healed result and are happy after one session. Others want more definition or depth. Not sure? Text or call Tina and send a few photos of your brows — she can advise whether a touch-up makes sense for you.
